Apr.20,2012Welcome to the Bohemian Academy of Metaphysics!
Keep checking back! Soon classes will be offered and mentoring available in a wide variety of subjects. The theology/Tradition of Bohemian Witchcraft is presented here as an example of an ongoing study of metaphysics and a variety of resonant spiritual concepts being amalgamated into a coherent spiritual practice shaped by a specific person. Of course, that person is me. However, Bohemian Traditional Witchcraft doesn’t exclude a variance in ideas or ideologies any more than metaphysics itself does. The Bohemian Academy is not exclusive to Bohemian Witchcraft, it is an Academy of Metaphysics where subjects such as cosmology, ontology and epistemology will be delved into to name a few. The point is to learn and teach, or both, whatever your calling may be. The reason I included Bohemian Witchcraft here is to demonstrate a spiritual theology that is the result of study and practice. Mostly, to demonstrate that one doesn’t have to pick one path or another but that theologies can be combined to suit the individual needs of the practitioner.
As to the idea of the “Academy of Metaphysical Studies” my hope is that with time people will share ideas regarding the myriad of topics that are included under that heading. I hope that one day this site will be a place of learning and of teaching and that people who want mentoring as well as people who want to mentor will come together in the forums to share with one another in a positive and mutually beneficial way. Thus far I am still working on the arduous task of converting notes and course materials from notebooks, the kind with paper in them, and floppies so I can make them available here. Check the calendar at this site for release dates of new classes as they become available. Please bear with me as I get things off the ground.

Welcome to Bohemian Witchcraft, an “Open Source” Pagan Tradition
Welcome to Bohemian Witchcraft, a “Do-it-Yourself” set of guidelines for anyone walking an alternative or eclectic Pagan oriented path. Of course this is by no means exclusive to Witchcraft as aspects of Hoodoo, Buddhism, Shamanism and even Celtic Tree Lore are present in the theology as it’s presented here.
As time marches on and more and more people come to spirituality or even come to question their own theologies, basic religio-spiritual precepts are being re-defined all the time as are words that were once defined and understood quite simply. Bohemian Witchcraft applies as a means to break out of the structured and more rigid confines of established religion and basically define one’s own spiritual path rather than be defined by it.
Creating one’s own theology is challenging to say the least. Founded in 1983, the Tradition of Bohemian Witchcraft is meant to provide a way for its practitioners to build their own path. It offers a foundation to build on and encourages continuous growth and learning by examining many paths rather than only one and blending them cohesively together. This website is here to facilitate open communication between people from all backgrounds and all walks of life. Whether you follow a specifically defined path or not you are welcome here for we all have something to teach just as we all have something to learn.
You will not find some made up mythology regarding how this theology came about. There are no romanticized stories of Gods and Goddesses and faeries skipping through moss laden forests. This theology is the result of years of study and practice. There is no specific pantheon, this theology will not think for you and tell you which divine forces are valid and which are not. The point of this theology is to consider the possibility that all of them are valid manifestations of energy and allow the practitioner to decide which of those energies resonate with them via study and practice. Here is where science and experimentation meet spirituality and study at a crossroads where each road will take you to a new place to learn and grow and each path will take a lifetime to explore.

Regarding Herbs as Medicine:
I have an extensive background in the use of herbs as medicine and still strive to learn more each day as this is one field of study where there is always more to learn. Even before becoming a certified herbalist I had studied and used herbs medicinally for many years. Although there is potential for misuse resulting in possibly damaging side effects and care should be taken when using herbs, the potential danger is not nearly as prevalent as pharmaceutical companies and some medical professionals who stand to lose business should people learn to take care of themselves would have you believe. In fact, the side effects of using many prescription drugs are far worse than the side effects of herb use.
As an herbalist I could list 100 links to various websites, articles or books that verify what I’m saying just as any nurse or doctor could list 100 websites, articles or books supporting their point of view. I won’t. I do not want the issue to become a debate. Here at the Bohemian Academy responsible use of herbs will be discussed, to that end, please read the following:
